COMMERCIAL CONCRETE INSTALLATION INFORMATION:
What is commercial concrete?
When it comes to concrete in commercial or industrial spaces, it is important to use the most durable and structurally sound products for the job. Based on how much foot traffic and weight is traveled on the concrete area each day is a factor that should not be overlooked.
Not only do these businesses have higher foot traffic, but more than likely, heavy equipment is also traveling on these concrete areas. Can concrete really withstand heavy equipment both in the short and long term? Well, of course it can if the concrete contractor takes all of the necessary steps to ensure a good product. Concrete flooring can withstand the weight of forklifts and other heavy machinery for years on end.
Your best bet for picking commercial concrete is to use a stronger mix of water, cement and sand which is how the psi is calculated. The less moisture the mixture has the more strength the concrete will have over time.

The Concrete Driveway Installation Process
Tear out the existing driveway and prepare the area to pour concrete.
Our concrete installation crew will arrive on the first day of the job with all the necessary equipment to tear out and remove the old driveway and haul it away. Next, forms are set in place to define the area in which the new concrete driveway is going to be installed. We ask that homeowners be present on the first day of the job to approve the forms, so we can ensure that you get precisely the design we agreed upon. After that, rebar reinforcements are set throughout the entire area of the driveway. This will add additional structural integrity to the finished product for your Woodlands, Texas new concrete driveway.
Pour and finish the concrete, and broom finish if preferred.
Once the forms are all set, we’re ready to pour! Concrete trucks arrive, and the base color you choose ( if applicable ) will be added into the cement mix and thoroughly mixed. Then the pouring begins. After pouring the cement, our skilled installation crew will use screed boards to smooth the surface of the concrete carefully. Complete Concrete of Houston’s skilled craftsmen are highly trained, and will make sure your driveway has a beautiful, smooth, and even finish.
Allow the cement to harden overnight then return to remove the forms and saw cut expansion joints.
At this stage in the concrete process, we leave the cement to harden overnight. Then, we use specialized diamond-cut sawblades to cut expansion joints into the driveway (unless wood joints are requested). Some fluctuations in temperature, common to the Houston area, sometimes cause the cement to expand and contract, which can result in cracked cement. By installing expansion joints, you give the concrete flexibility to move and prevent any long term damage.
